Closed Minds, Crazy Ideas

Even before Trump’s State of the Union Address last night, Maxine Waters was acting like the junkyard dog we know her to be and calling on Democrats to boycott the speech.

Well before the lights in the House Chamber clicked on, Waters, with zero knowledge of what the President would say, labeled the President’s speech a bunch of lies.

Why would Mad Max do this? Simple: she doesn’t want Americans to hear the truth about the Trump Administration’s incredible success. She doesn’t want people to know about the record low unemployment rate among Americans, and especially Americans who are black, female, Hispanic, or Asian.

She and her socialist cohorts in Congress don’t want the American people to know how this president has improved trade fairness. They don’t want us to hear about the progress made to reign in China’s illegal theft of our intellectual property.

Along with the rest of her open-border fools, Maxine Waters doesn’t want Americans to learn about migrants who are sexually assaulted, or our neighbors who are killed and robbed, or about the more than 150 billion dollars a year tax payers spend to provide illegal immigrants with benefits intended for America’s citizens and immigrants here legally.

And Waters most certainly wasn’t interested in hearing President Trump plead with politicians of both parties to set aside their partisan interests, and work together to solve the problems Americans are dealing with.

Mad Max boycotted the President’s speech. It must be wonderful to be so right all the time that you never even have to listen to the other side.

She wasn’t alone of course. Sadly, a number of the members of the black caucus also tuned out a President who has accomplished in just two years what politicians have promised, but failed to achieve in decades. More black Americans have jobs now than ever before — finally a path out of poverty.

Newly elected socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC for short,) announced before the event, she would refuse to shake the President’s hand. Add maturity and civility to the list of things she doesn’t value — like rising wages and record low unemployment. Kind of reminds me of all the other monumentally stupid things she’s said. It also presumes the President would take offense that a woman who wants to destroy our country doesn’t care to shake his hand.

Unlike last year, Democrats this year actually stood and applauded at least a few of the things the President said. This is in stark contrast to last year when Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer ordered their delegations to remain seated and not show support of any kind for anything the President said. Why the change? Because Democrat’s churlish behavior last time backfired badly.

Following the State of the Union, the failed socialist candidate for Governor of Georgia last year gave the official Democrat response. She called for gun control, more money for public education, advocated medicare expansion, demanded more action on climate change, and promoted looser rules on abortion.

Not to be outdone, socialist Bernie Sanders also piped up insisting on government run healthcare, guaranteed income for all, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and less border security.

Neither, however, told us how they’d pay for all the new spending they propose. They hinted that the rich weren’t paying their fair share, even though the top 2% already pay 90% of all the taxes the government collects.

What they didn’t admit is that they could take 90% of all the income Americans earn and still run out of money to fund all their plans in just 10 months. What happens then? Can you say Venezuela?

Contrary to Mad Max, I suggest you watch both sides. One was about expanding freedom, improving the financial well being of Americans, making neighborhoods safer, and creating a nation in which individuals excel and grow. The other was about taking from some in order to provide free stuff for others, imposing massive new regulations on individuals and businesses, and growing government to administer it all.

Enjoy!
