COWARDS, DAMN COWARDS!

Give anyone, no, give everyone the truth serum and 98% of people will tell you that the NRA had nothing to do with the horrific school shootings in Florida last week.  

They didn’t sell the guns to the shooter, they didn’t plan the shooting, and for damn sure, they didn’t pull the trigger. In actual fact, the shooter wasn’t even a member of the NRA.

But in spite of all of this, a number of large companies have elected to withdraw their discounts from NRA members!

WHY?

Because the leadership of these companies are cowards. Their senior management would rather bow to liberals who want to blame the tools, and the NRA’s strong defense of the freedom to own those tools, for every death by gun even though they know damn well that the NRA had nothing to do with the death of those 17 kids and teachers.  

And worse, the liberals — and now the leadership of some of America’s biggest companies — want to blame the NRA even though they know that all their liberal proposals to ban certain kinds of weapons will have absolutely no material effect on stopping even one gun death.

Who are these companies? Some of the leading companies in America: Delta, United Air, FedEx, Avis and Budget and several more.

Here is what I don’t understand; why haven’t Delta and United stopped flying to Chicago where hundreds upon hundreds of young people die every year from guns. Why haven’t Avis and Budget (now one company) stopped renting cars in the Chicago market? Oh, and FedEx? Why are you still picking up and delivering in Chicago, and now Baltimore, where gun deaths are going through the roof.

I’ll tell you why; because these companies do NOT have the courage of their convictions. They don’t actually want to risk losing even one dime in revenue for their cowardice. They just want to be seen as “caring,” and socially relevant.

What they probably don’t realize, and even if they did probably wouldn't care, is that their pandering to the anti-gun movement actually endangers even more lives. Why? Because while they blame the NRA, the truth is that not one proposal put forward by the liberals to ban certain kinds of guns, or high-capacity magazines, will save a single life from a mad-man intent on killing people.

If they, or their liberal friends, really cared about saving lives, they’d be advocating for more effective ways to identify and treat the mentally ill. They’d be promoting ways to improve the process for background checks. They’d advocate for better security on campuses. Perhaps, most important, they’d be asking why over a dozen calls into two different sheriff’s offices, 911 emergency centers, and even the FBI went completely unheeded.  

And, perish the thought, they’d be asking why gun bans in places like Chicago actually result in more gun deaths rather than fewer. Is it because they might have to admit a socially unpopular reality —  that the most effective way to stop a mad-man intent on killing is to make sure someone is shooting back.

Instead of meaningful action though, the liberals’ corporate followers would rather punish NRA members by taking away their tiny discounts. Of course, they first did a pile of research showing that very few members ever actually took advantage of those discounts. Taking them away was a low-risk way of “taking a stand” without harming their stock price.

Delta didn’t say we are pulling out of the Chicago market because there are too many deaths by guns in that city. No, they took the infinitely more cowardly stand of doing something the believe will have NO impact on their business. Damn cowards!

And FedEx? Seems like I remember one of your trucks getting burned in the riots in Baltimore. What did you do? Not a damn thing. But in the case of these Florida shootings, you flexed your holier-than-thou muscles and took away a crappy little discount given to NRA members. And to what end? The members didn’t kill those people! As a matter of record, no member of the NRA has ever been involved in a mass shooting.

The leaders of these companies are nothing but common cowards and everyone of them should be ashamed!
