I am truly dumbfounded!

A recent poll happily promoted by the leftist media reveals that for the first time ever, more than half of Democrats admit they think socialism is better than capitalism. What? My first reaction was to believe it can’t possibly be true.

So I dug a bit deeper into the poll and looked for myself. Sadly, I have to report that it is indeed true. The poll by Gallup is indisputable.

How can this be? The poll shows that the biggest group of supporters for socialism comes from young people between 18 and 29. They overwhelmingly buy into this idea, and it’s their support that pushes a majority of the overall sample into stating a preference for socialism over capitalism. Now, if you think about this, it probably shouldn’t be that big a surprise.

First, the majority of these kids grew up with union educators from elementary school through whatever college they went to. Liberal and left-wing teachers and professors spent years brain-washing these kids into believing that big government, massive entitlements, and high taxes are the surest route to social justice. They were taught that rich is bad (including, in many cases, their parents). They also learned that white is probably worse.

Then, along comes Barack Obama.  

President Obama threw gasoline on a smoldering fire and turned it into a raging blaze. Obama turned 200 years of truth on its head. He promoted the idea that strength is bad … wealth is evil … and justice for the poor required injustice for everyone else. He suggested America was responsible for many of the world’s problems and introduced the mantra of leading from behind. He claimed business owners, large and small, had little to do with building their companies and nothing to do with caring for their workers so over taxing them and over regulating them was not just necessary, but “only fair.”

Obama put government in charge of health care, and when quality suffered and prices skyrocketed, as government control assured they would, he blamed everyone else: insurers, providers, Congress, pharmaceutical companies, and the states.

Obama methodically dismantled the military while publicly claiming to be its friend. He touted free education for everyone as though colleges, professors, labs, books, and dorms could be created just by wishing it so.

On immigration, he refused to enforce border protection and allowed countless illegal immigrants free entry, even inviting illegals to attend the State of the Union speech. He also forced states to accept Muslims who’d received little or no background vetting.

Obama made clear the low regard in which he held our police. He and his justice department took every opportunity to blame police racism for shootings — even when the facts later proved police were acting appropriately to protect themselves and enforce order. And he NEVER apologized when he was later proven wrong.

All of Obama’s whining and hostility against American capitalism, American strength and American pride were noted by these 18 - 29 year olds. It’s no wonder then they supported Bernie Sanders for President as their hero — a devout socialist who drives a $100,000 plus car and has NEVER held a private sector job. Vermont’s taxpayers have rewarded his rants against capitalism for decades though he has NO idea what it is like to actually work in a capitalist society.

Young Democrats are mostly entitled brats who believe that our hard earned money belongs to them. The more you listen to them the more it becomes crystal clear they have no clue what they’re talking about. They whine about making the rich pay a ‘fair share” but can’t say what that means. Elizabeth Warren, one of the leaders they love most, has publicly stated she’d support a 70% to 90% tax rate on the rich.

If you watch these people, they bring zero in the way of informed knowledge, provable facts, or real ideas to back up their empty platitudes and irrational sound bytes.

They still haven’t come to terms with the fact that should they eventually get their way, the supply of new generation cell phones will come to a screeching halt … government bureaucrats will decide who gets free education … and the rest will collect garbage or clean public bathrooms for their utopian government.  

And they have yet to figure out that eventually the whole system will collapse as the government runs out of everyone else’s money.

If you have kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews; let me suggest you buy them copies of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, or Friedrich Hayek’s, The Road to Serfdom. Insist they read them. If you do, maybe their eyes will be opened before it’s too late … for them and for America.
