I keep hearing from the media and liberals on social media that illegals don’t get any (or many) benefits from the government.
OK, so help me understand.
Those who get through our border know exactly where to go and who to talk to so they can get help. Most of the information comes from attorneys who work on the south side of the border. They get pointed to the sanctuary city of their choice and all the information they need: contact information for attorneys willing to help, lists of available services and government offices where they can receive food stamps, housing information, and more.
The reason you see way too many homeless vets living on the streets in places like Chicago and San Francisco, but not homeless migrants, is because of the housing contacts available to them.
Illegals know exactly where to go to get their kids enrolled in school and even where to go to get clothes for their kids. They’ve also been told where to get food, bus passes, and cell phone services with multiple lines so no one in the family is left out. They are told which churches protect illegals and what days of the week they’re open. They are told where they can go to find work and which jobs pay cash so they avoid U.S. taxes.
Now, I know that Americans are the most generous people on the face of the earth, but we’re talking 100,000 illegals each month this year; that’s a ton of people to take care day in and day out.
And just how many jobs are available in the San Francisco area for laborers? I know there’s a building boom right now and crops must certainly be picked, but we already have 14 - 20 million illegal immigrants in this country.
So I’m guessing what the media means when they say illegals don’t get government assistance, they mean federal government assistance. But wait, that can’t be right because illegals qualify for the child tax credit (no, doesn’t matter if they paid a dime in taxes.) Oh, and by the way, those kids can be staying with Aunt Maria in Acapulco.
Conservative estimates suggest the annual cost to taxpayers of illegal immigrants exceeds $150 billion per year. I’m guessing with more than 100,000 illegals crashing our border each month, that cost is rapidly on the rise.
And have you thought about the impact illegal immigrants have on our schools? Every illegal immigrant student in our classroom who doesn’t speak English drags down the level of instruction. Even those who do speak English strain the time and attention of teachers who have less time for the American kid whose parents pay the taxes that support the school and teachers.
And what about doctors in Emergency Rooms when 100’s of thousands of illegal immigrants overwhelm them? Will American families suffer as a result?
Maybe you’ve seen President Trump suggesting maybe we should bus illegal migrants to sanctuary municipalities? Here’s the hitch.
Those who have been the loudest in using sanctuary policies to hammer Trump now say they don’t want the illegal immigrants. Hard to believe that even those who advocate for open borders say they have no room in their cities and states for more immigrants. Why? Because IT’S NOT SAFE!
Hold the presses: that’s exactly what conservatives have been saying for years only to be called racists, xenophobes, and nationalists by liberals and the media. A huge number of illegal immigrants in any community can be dangers: MS13, other gang members, cartel members, and the worst of the scum from these South American countries.
There is a pretty simple solution.
First, Democrats need to own up to the fact that the immigrant crisis is on them and come to the table to discuss real solutions. How are we going to handle the caravans of migrants moving north from Central America? What are we going to do about the countries allowing these caravans to form. What about the countries who allow the caravans to cross their borders enroute to the U.S.?
Second, we need comprehensive immigration reform that allows for legal immigration while protecting the economy, security, and interests of the United States … including a solid plan to vet every single person who comes to our country … and makes certain those coming to live in America actually want to become Americans, not bring the same problems to our country that made them want to leave theirs.
