They just won’t stop!

In the past few months, key Democrat leaders have proven to their own embarrassment there is no radical leftist proposal so far out they aren’t willing to become its champion. The instant one Democrat seems to reach the outer limits of reason, another drops an even less rational idea.

So far this year we’ve seen Democrats rally around proposals to:

1. Disband our Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.

2. Open our borders to anyone who cares to come.

3. Raise taxes so every American’s health care will be controlled by the federal government.  

4. Raise taxes so college will be “free.”

5. Raise taxes to provide a minimum federal income to every American.

6. Impeach Trump (even though they can’t name a single impeachable offense.)

And here’s the latest brilliant idea Democrats are supporting, this one from California’s Senator Kamala Harris: put the federal government in charge of regulating all rents.

Never mind the incredible level of corruption that would accompany this new government agency, just consider some of the other negative consequences the Democrats clearly have not thought through — or just don’t care about.

Lets say you’re a retired couple who over the years have invested in a couple of rental properties to provide for your retirement. The Democrats now want to reduce your income by 30%. Sweet?

Or what if your a working couple who rents out the basement or the duplex next store? A 30% reduction could mean the loss of your home.

Or think about the investor who puts her money into an apartment building. She’ll likely lose her investment entirely, maybe face bankruptcy.

Something else is certainly true. Investment in new rental properties, maintenance of existing rental properties, and those who work in new and used construction will all be hurt by federal rent control.

And that’s the problem with all the Democrat proposals that give government more control and regular Americans less.

They limit freedom. They reduce our quality of life now, and they hurt our chances for a better life in the future. But sadly, Democrats are just too stupid to think through the consequences of their ideas; or they just don’t care.

In November we must send a message, “We do care. Stop the craziness!”
