Hillary Again?

July 13, 2018

White House Sunset

I woke up this morning feeling pretty good; slept well, went for a nice walk with our dog Romeo, came back, put on coffee, and turned on the news.

The first thing I heard was talk about Hillary Clinton running again for President in 2020. What?

Can this really be true? Didn’t she get the message two years ago? Or is she so hell bent on being the first female president, she would subject America again to a Clinton candidacy.

One thing that’s certain, the Clintons have so little power left they would never be able to shut out other candidates as they did in 2016. That time it came down to just her and Bernie. Won’t be the same next time.

Another thing she probably doesn’t realize is that the Democrat Party has moved so far to the left there is almost no constituency left for her. That’s not to say there are any limits at all to the crazy leftist ideas she would be willing to advocate. It’s just to understand that after more than 20 years of the nation serving witness to a constant stream of Clinton dishonesty, incompetence, and scandal; there is no one left who would believe anything she said about, well … anything.

That fact seems to be borne out by a recent poll by the Drudge Report. Of the 318,600 people who responded, 65% said Hillary should not run for anything again. EVER!

Besides, the Democrats already have lots of far-left, socialist style kooks to choose from. Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker are just two who have already made their intentions known. Can you imagine Hillary trying to out-socialist those two? Of course, it doesn’t matter to her, she’d be happy to say any crazy thing she thought she needed to say. But not only would the left never believer her, she’d also disappoint the few Democrats left who are hoping for a JFK-like moderate. A Hilary candidacy would put an end once and for all to their hopes.

I know, we should be thoroughly pleased that Hillary would consider running again. After all, everyone knows she’s a liar, her health isn’t great (look at the problems she had last time around,) and we know that she can’t control the stupid stuff coming out of her mouth (can you say deplorables?) And if by some miracle she survived the Democrat primaries, her candidacy most certainly would assure Trump’s re-election.

My opinion though is that she wouldn’t even have to win the primaries. If Hillary decided to run again, the Democrat Party would become the laughing stock of the world; fighting each other to see who can say the most absurd thing to try and capture the far left of the party. It would mean the final and irreversible end of the Democrat Party we once knew.

But, alas, I am getting ahead of myself. Before we get the chance to see the Democrat Party commit suicide with a crazy rush to the outer limits, we must first contend with the mid term elections this year. Many of their incumbents and challengers are doing their best to strike a more moderate chord before their Presidential contenders scramble for the leftist vote and make a shambles of anything approaching reasonableness.

Those candidates are trying to model last year’s successful candidacy of Doug Jones in Alabama who ran as a moderate only to support Schumer and company once he arrived in the Senate.

The challenge now is to make sure they don’t get away with it … that they can’t portray a false image of moderation in order to fool voters into electing them. We need to challenge them, expose their real records, and remind voters that any Democrat who wins — no matter how moderate they claim to be — means another vote to put Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in charge of the U.S. Congress.

The job now is to give President Trump a strong majority in the Senate and hold the House. Once that’s done, we can look forward to a good laugh as we watch Hillary consider another run for president.
