Indignant at the Injustice

Indignant at the Injustice

It’s clearly not enough for the Democrat left today that illegal immigrants are protected from prosecution by hiding out in sanctuary cities and states.

They insist illegals receive food stamps, qualify for welfare, receive housing assistance, and, in many places, get drivers’ licenses.

In some towns, that’s still not enough. Some municipalities have now extended to illegals the right to vote in local elections … and you can be sure the Democrats will start pushing that proposal in state elections.

And let’s not forget that we are already forced to provide education to children here illegally, or that Illegal immigrants are eligible to receive monthly Social Security whether they’ve paid a dime into the system or not.

So it’s probably no surprise that the Democratic Socialist running for Governor in California has called for FREE medical care for those here illegally. The very same healthcare you and I receive, but that many of us have to pay for.

Now, forgive me a moment of realism, but let’s consider for a minute the cost of this proposal. There are roughly 5 million illegal immigrants in California. Let’s assume each uses about $1,000 in health care each year. Certainly, some will use less, some more, but an average of $1,000 is probably close.

If my math is correct, that is $5,000,000,000.00 each year or 50+billion over the next ten years.

I can’t help but wonder where this progressive thinks he will get the money. Tax the rich? Well Governor Brown has pretty much tapped that well dry. Higher corporate taxes? Again, Brown has pushed that envelope about as far as it will go. Higher estate taxes? Maybe. Higher sales taxes? Could be.

The problem with these Democratic Socialists is that while well intended, they never worry about where the money will come from or how they will pay the bills.

They simply refuse to understand — or just don’t care — that at some point they will run out of our money.

And once that happens, then they start cutting services; first to those who have paid in the most (they can afford it); then the middle class; and finally, everyone else. Everyone except the elite who propose and pass these crazy plans that is. Everyone else in California will suffer when those who can afford to do so flee and businesses take their jobs with them.

Eventually, everything becomes more scarce and, therefore, more expensive. Food, electricity, health care, education, energy. About the only thing worth less are wages because more surplus labor chasing too few jobs always results in lower pay for those lucky enough to find work.

Don’t believe it? The Democratic Socialist who runs Venezuela just demanded a 3,000% increase in the minimum wage so employers would be forced to pay workers more. Guess what? Businesses closed, workers lost jobs, crime increased.

Those few still left who support the government don’t particularly care. They get special access to the things regular Venezuelans are literally dying without.

I’m sure it won’t be as bad in California because the politicians in Washington won’t let one state collapse without a bail-out from taxpayers in every other state.

But what happens when the Democrat Socialists gain ground in Congress? And, heaven forbid, what happens if one of them wins the White House in 2022?

Who will be left to bail us out then?

I know it sounds alarmist, but these people do these things because they can. They use these promises to gain power then keep upping the ante to stay in power.

But they always make sure they’re protected from the fall-out so they never have to go without. At least until the suffering finally causes us to rise up against their injustice and take back our country and our freedom. Or we can avoid all that, express our indignation at the injustice now, and vote them all out of office.
