Kids Against Guns

March 19, 2018

School Walkout

I don’t doubt that some of those kids (very few) who left school the other day to support an as yet unidentified gun control proposal are truly sincere and actually care strongly about what they are protesting.

My problem is that the vast majority of these kids couldn’t spell ‘gun control’ if you gave them 9 of the 10 letters.

Almost none have read, let alone, understand our Constitution. It’s not their fault. Public — that is education dominated by labor unions — doesn’t really want them to appreciate America’s glorious history, or what our founding fathers fought for. I doubt that any of them have even read the second Amendment — except to the extent corrupt liberal teachers have “interpreted” the second Amendment for them.

Another question I’m a bit unclear on. How did a bunch of unorganized high school students organize and pay for all the buses, hotels, signs, food, etc… for a march on Washington DC? No doubt they received a lot of help from left-wing anti gun organizations who smelled an opportunity to push their agenda.

And how is it the same kids were showing up on news stories about the tragic shooting in Florida … and just who organized a national high school walk-out protesting the ownership of guns? I promise you it wasn’t these kids!

And how did this terrible shooting become Trump’s fault, or the fault of the NRA. Not one of the homicidal shooters so far has even been a member of the NRA.

And isn’t it amazing that no one, not one single news outlet or major politician, blamed Obama when the dozen or more mass shootings took place during his two terms in office.

So if anyone believes this is a bunch of concerned kids acting on their own, I have a bridge to sell you.

Remember, it was the Obama administration who famously stated ‘never let a good tragedy go to waste’. And the left has certainly jumped all over this one in an effort to take our guns away.

But whatever you do, don’t be fooled by ‘we only want to take automatic rifles’ off the street. Automatic rifles have been illegal since nearly the days of Al Capone. I support the ban on automatic weapons.

What the left really wants is all our guns. They’ll start by taking the ones that look like military weapons, even though they’re semi-automatic rifles just like nearly every hunting rifles and many target rifles. Then they’ll want a ban on pistols. Then they’ll want a ban on all rifles and shotguns. The truth is they’ll never be satisfied until every law-abiding American is disarmed.

And thanks to gun registration, the government knows where the “legal” guns are. What they don’t get is that the hoops they’re making law abiding citizens jump through don’t tell them a thing about where the guns are that belong to the bad guys; and worse, they don’t care.

What I don’t get is how they’re able to convince anyone that disarming those of us who obey the law somehow makes us safer from those who don’t obey the law.

What our country needs is a little more of the common sense our founders used when they wrote the Constitution — and an effort to really understand what that Constitution says. Let’s all do the Pledge each day (especially in schools), let’s bring prayer back to our schools, let’s stop the far left propaganda machine in our education system, and let’s make our schools safe again.

It’s sad how little common sense is really common these days. But when it comes to gun control, or just about any other issue we confront today, we need a little more common sense and a lot less emotion.
