Nancy Pelosi Takes Unfair Advantage
March 31, 2020

Based on her actions over the last two weeks, it’s apparent Nancy Pelosi sees the COVID-19 crisis as an opportunity for both political and personal gain.
Either that or she’s delusional and thinks she’s back in the days of Barack Obama when she could get pretty much whatever she wanted with no oversight and no accountability.
You’ll remember when she said about Obamacare, “We have to pass the bill before we know what’s in it.” It was a precursor to her and others in the Obama Administration, including the president, saying, “if you like your plan you can keep your plan; if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.”
Pelosi has been in Congress for 34 years. In that time, she’s gotten away with a lot. Trump’s election limited her larceny. At least till COVID-19.
Early in the crisis, she attempted to use a measure to provide crisis relief to provide taxpayer funding for abortion. When the Trump Administration caught her, she quietly removed the language. No apology. No suggestion her action was inappropriate.
More recently, she attempted to use the Senate’s $2 trillion relief package to add a wish list of left wing policy initiatives.
$35 million for the Kennedy Center in Washington DC? How would that benefit a small business in New York City or an out-of-work waitress in Spokane? Of course not. What it might well do is get a Kennedy Center lobby or theatre named after her. Imagine! Using the anxiety and illness, even death, of Americans to get her name on a plague. It’s shameful!
And that’s just one small example. In her 1,300 page bill written to compete with the Senate Bill, she included a raft of crazy ideas including benefits to illegal immigrants, new carbon emission standards for airplanes, more government regulation of businesses, support for labor union leaders, more funding for union-dominated schools, expanded Obamacare, and so much more.
Even once public pressure forced her to back off her own bill, she persuaded Chuck Schumer to hold out for almost a trillion dollars worth of “Green New Deal” type goodies and pork barrel projects.
These are just a few of the abuses we know about. Based on her behavior, I hope the House Ethics Committee reviews each and every piece of legislation she’s touched, every expense report, and every taxpayer-funded trip she’s taken. Character flaws don’t normally show up in one area of a person’s life and not others. Given her willingness to use the coronavirus to bully, cheat, and lie, it’s very likely she’s doing the same in other areas of her life as well.
Sadly, she is probably unbeatable in her home district in San Francisco, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stop her by taking away her Speaker’s gavel.
Her corruption has gotten so blatant we can hope Americans will finally take notice. Take away her taxpayer-funded 757 jet, her expense allowance, her junkets, her offenses against the American people and the constitution.
In the final analysis, the American people have far ore power than Speaker Pelosi. It’s past time we used it.
