The Liberal Mentality of Petty Tyrants

Governor Gavin Newsom of California clearly likes illegals a great deal more than he does the Californians he was elected to lead. He’s decided that despite his state being billions in debt, he’s going to give each illegal immigrant $500. A total of $75 million the state doesn’t have.

California has been run by progressives for a long time. Gavin Newsom today, and Jerry Brown before him, both caved massively to public employee unions. They signed sweetheart pension deals that turned government workers into millionaires after just 20 years of service.

The problem is there wasn’t enough money to cover their commitments. What with all the other big government programs, giveaways, and benefits to illegals; there never could be enough.

So now California wants taxpayers in other states to bail them out. Newsom is threatening that if the federal government doesn’t do so, he’ll start firing police, fire fighters, and other first responders.

He says he’ll have no choice. And yet, he has chosen to spend $75 million on payments to illegals. And that doesn’t count the billions California already spends to provide illegal immigrants healthcare, education, housing, and more.

It’s a mysterious condition of the liberal mentality that Newsom would fire first responders, and jeopardize the safety and well being of his own constituents, in order to channel money to illegal immigrants.

When it comes to petty dictators, few mayors can match New York’s Mayor Bill De Blasio. De Blasio is a certified socialist who is now threatening the people of his city with fences around all the beaches if they refuse to follow his orders to stay out of the water. He’s also threatening to shut churches permanently if Christians in New York City disobey his order and meet anyway. No word on synagogues or mosques yet. Based on his recent history of hassling Jews who meet, it’s unlikely synagogues are safe.

Meanwhile De Blasio is insisting American taxpayers bail out New York City. He’s threatening President Trump he will keep New York City closed if he doesn’t get the federal money he wants. If he does, it’s certain the slow leak of New Yorkers to Florida will turn into a flood.

Maybe there’s something in the New York water that makes politicians into tyrants. Andrew Cuomo, New York’s Governor, ordered those testing positive with the Wuhan Virus to be returned to nursing homes when they were discharged from hospitals. This despite the fact that the Navy hospital ship, USN Comfort, was docked in the Hudson River with nearly 700 empty beds waiting for Covid-19 patients. Likewise, the Javits Center had been confused to take 2,500 patients with the virus. Instead, Cuomo ordered nursing homes to accept the patients and barred them from refusing.

Is it any wonder that more than 4,800 people have died in New York nursing homes? Over 40% of the deaths in New York state from the Chinese virus occurred entirely due to Cuomo’s colossal arrogance. Or is it ignorance?

Given Cuomo’s liberal mentality it’s likely both … arrogant ignorance.

Cuomo’s now saying no one should be blamed, investigated, or prosecuted for the 4,800 deaths that occurred. His excuse, “Old people are doing to die from this virus.”

Michigan is another state experiencing the boot of the liberal mentality. Michigan’s Governor Whitmer is under the impression she should be able to repeal the constitution and force people to stay in doors or else. She had a barber arrested and is now threatening to take his license. The courts have over-ridden some of her orders. Sheriff’s departments in some counties have refused to enforce them. And demonstrators are surrounding the state capitol building. Still, she insists she be obeyed, or else.

Joe Biden is still considering Whitmer for the V.P. slot on the Democrat ticket. She’s just as well suited to serve as Joseph Stalin’s running mate.

The famous mantra of Democrats, “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste” has become cliche in the present crisis. What better crisis, afterall, than an international contagion that allows liberals to get the government they’ve always wanted?

Democrat governors and local officials want to stay in lockdown as long as possible. And they keep trying to blame Trump. They seem to believe the misery of their constituents will cost Trump his re-election as though voters won’t see who’s really responsible.

Why not give it a try? Russian collusion didn’t work. Neither did Ukraine quid pro quo’s. But a global pandemic that’s killed hundreds of thousands, including nearly 100,000 Americans? Well, if that doesn’t beat Trump, what in the world can?

That seems to be Nancy Pelosi’s reckoning. She’s the ring leader of the Democrat’s current strategy and, for 40 years, a major inspiration for the liberal mentality sweeping through the Democrat Party these days.

You can bet if Biden wins, Pelosi will be a major player — pulling Biden’s strings, deciding who sits on his cabinet, picking judges, making policy, and delivering the talking points. In short, Nancy is looking forward to running the country.

And with her liberal mentality, that should keep you awake at night.
