The New Segregationists

June 29, 2018

Segregation

Segregation is an ugly word; it was ugly in the 20th century and it’s even uglier today.

Quite frankly, it’s pathetic we still have this word in our vocabulary … worse still, that we have to talk about it at all. But we do and the reason we do is ironically because of those who claim to be segregation’s worst enemies.

Barack Obama spent 8 years trying to score political points for himself and his party by dividing Americans against each other in nearly every way possible. Income, religion, age, gender, political belief, geography, and, of course, ethnicity; every difference between us became a political opportunity.

Today we’re experiencing the fruit from that poison tree — a massive rebirth of segregation.

But why is this the hangover that only seems to get worse? Why? Because for the liberals, progressives, and socialists; segregation isn’t just the result of some failed political strategy, it is the strategy. It’s an intentional strategic ploy that calls for Americans who support or work for Donald Trump to be ostracized from the rest of society.

It’s a cynical plan authored by The Democratic National Committee and viciously implemented by groups like Black Lives Members and ANTIFA. These are the new segregationists, and just like the old segregationists, they want to set their group up as superior by tearing down another. Unlike the old segregationists who dehumanized based on color, the new segregationists target those who hold certain political values — specifically those of us who love America, cherish freedom, and support free enterprise.

They say they believe in free speech, but at the same time fundamentally believe we conservatives don’t deserve a voice. To the left, any speech contrary to their own worldview isn’t just wrong, it’s dangerous. It’s violence against them. That’s how they justify belittling conservatives and opposing our rights. Sound like free speech? Not to anyone for whom the words “free” and “speech” still mean what the founders intended to protect.

I recently wrote about several prominent Republicans and conservatives who were harassed and heckled out of public places by leftists. They were targeted to be segregated from the flow of American life.

Examples include the spokesperson for the White House being asked to leave a restaurant where she was dining with her family; a prominent state attorney general who was heckled out of a movie theater; a member of the president’s cabinet who was yelled out of a DC Mexican restaurant; and a Republican member of congress who was shot while playing baseball.

I’ve also written about Maxine Waters, the Democrat member of Congress who called for leftists to harass members of the President’s administration as they shop, dine, buy gas or otherwise live life. And let’s not forget the leftist actor who called for abuse and assault on the President’s young son.

It’s proof that hatred and ignorance are not problems confined solely to any one ethnic group, and that victims can come in all colors and backgrounds.

The ethnic segregation of the 20th century was shameful and repugnant. It left many of our fellow Americans in hopelessness and despair. They’re wounds we’ve spent more than 60 years and trillions of dollars trying, and mostly failing, to heal.

Today, we see a new segregation taking hold perpetrated by a left wing who failed to learn from the pain and harm caused by our last bout with segregation. This time it’s against conservatives. And it’s not letting up. In fact the left have successfully recruited most of the media, academia, and cultural elites into their campaign of deceit.

We can’t be complicit by refusing to act. No matter what your political beliefs, if you love your country and your freedom you have a duty to stand up for Americans who are now being targeted for harassment. If we really care about justice, and about one another, we’ll say no to the haters … the new segregationists.
