The Spine-Chilling Future of Leftist Control

Generally, my crystal ball is worthless (hence my failure to score a jackpot in Power Ball winnings.)

However, when I gaze into the dim crystal and seek answers about a future under Democrat control of the White House and the Congress, my crystal ball emitted a thoroughly horrid sound and went completely dark. But not before giving me a glimpse into a very dark future.

The first thing I saw was a gradual, but inevitable end to our second amendment rights. First, they’ll tell us to be good neighbors and turn our guns into the police. But when they haven’t completely disarmed the law-abiding public that way, they’ll start knocking on doors and demanding we turn in our guns or face jail for violating the new family safety bill.

I guess I don’t understand now making you completely vulnerable to every thug in the neighborhood will make you safer, but those kinds of questions will also be banned once Auntie Nancy and her band of socialist pals finally get their way.

Next, our new and over-reaching socialist over-lords will pass Medicare for All (well, not quite all since they will no doubt exempt themselves and their families for life). They will tell us how wonderful this is for both all Americans and all illegal immigrants (henceforth called undocumented citizens).

They will smile broadly while boasting of all the new benefits they have provided: no premiums, no co-pays and no deductibles. They will tout their own compassion by pointing to coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Then they will tell us of the very modest tax increase required to provide all these wonderful benefits. One slow-news, Friday evening, they will reveal the new tax rates — along with all the elimination of deductions and credits people enjoy today — explaining it’s all for our own good. Then they will skip away to their long weekend of celebration.

It won’t take long to learn that much of the treatment we need either isn’t covered or given the waiting line to receive treatment, might as well not be covered. Over time, we’ll also see that new treatments, drugs, and devices have stopped coming on the market as researchers and the companies who fund them move from health to other endeavors or just flat go out of business.

In addition to crippling new taxes, and an end to accessible health care; expect the new Congress and President to install a host of new job-killing regulations on business. Many will be regulations Obama implemented and Trump killed. But there will be more. So many more.

And all of that will happen in just the first one hundred days.

Our new Democrat over-lords will demand changes in the constitution and move aggressively to force states to go along by threatening new mandates while withholding funds. Expect new Constitutional Amendments that seek to pack the Supreme Court, scrap the Electoral College, reduce the voting age to 16, and extend voting rights to undocumented immigrants.

Democrats will also insist government agencies exercise greater control over the private sector starting with the Federal Communications Commission. Any radio, television, or internet outlet that broadcasts news and talk will be limited to no more than 2 hours per day, and what they do and say must be approved and shared with the federal government.

Taxes on businesses will balloon to the point where many businesses pull up stakes here, and move to tax-friendly countries like Ireland and China (yea, go figure.) Car manufacturing will move offshore to find cheap labor and avoid huge new taxes that penalize carbon. New subsidies will be offered for the purchase of appliances, cars, and technologies that run on alternative energy sources. Hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose their jobs as businesses close or move to other countries. Taxes, fees, and costs will increasingly shift to the ever-diminishing number of people who don’t lose their jobs and companies that don’t move in order to pay for a constantly increasing number of government programs.

The left will throw open our borders and allow anyone in who wants in. New migrants will be eligible on arrival for free medical care (whether they work or not,) housing subsidies (but some states are complaining that there is nowhere to put these people,) food stamps, and general welfare. So many new Muslims will move to Michigan and Minnesota they’ll be granted 3 new Congressional seats each after the next census.

To the incredible disappointment of the socialist left, the Green New Deal will never get off the ground. Turns out the very sophisticated printing presses that produce our currency won’t be able to keep up with the demand for cash needed to pay for the GND.

My crystal ball revealed still more, but I’ll spare you, dear reader from any more terrible and frightening prognostications. Instead, I will save it for Halloween. Sweet dreams.
