The Twilight Zone

DACA Twilight Zone

Imagine, if you will, a country that is the most powerful in the world.

Imagine, if you will, a country with porous borders that has allowed millions of people to enter illegally.

Imagine, if you will, a country in which one of the two political parties makes a political issue out of legalizing citizenship for children brought here illegally — not because they really care about these people, but in cynical political charade intended to scare these people into voting for them permanently.

Imagine, if you will, that because of this same political party, our government shuts down. Our military don’t get paid. Public employees are furloughed. And millions of people are inconvenienced.

Imagine, if you will, that the people who closed the government continue to receive their paychecks, while most everyone one else goes without.

Sadly this is not the Twilight Zone. It is exactly what happened last weekend thanks to Democrat political maneuvering. And it may happen again in three weeks when the temporary funding bill expires.

First, by way of background, it’s important to consider the context. “DACA” was a program which allowed those who had been brought here illegally when they were children (called “dreamers,) to stay so long as they registered. The program which was mandated by Barack Obama was judged illegal by a number of courts on the grounds that President Obama had overstepped his constitutional authority. They said only Congress can make new law.

As a result of its illegality, President Trump gave Congress one year to pass a DACA program the way it should originally have been done — through legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by the President.

But with a new government funding bill approaching, Democrats saw a chance to politicize the issue even though the DACA deadline was still weeks away. And so the Democrats moved to tie action on DACA to a bill to keep the government funded. Republicans, meanwhile, had been working to create a DACA program that included better border security measures.

By their cynical political move to shut down the government or pass a DACA with no additional border security, the Democrats had hoped to add 800,000 votes (or as many as 4,000,000 if they can get their chain migration proposal passed) to their party rolls when these people achieve citizenship.

It’s important to see that the Democrats don’t really give a damn about the dreamers anymore than they care about the blacks they left stuck in ghettos 70 plus years ago. They don’t care, that is, until it comes to election time. Then they care a lot because they’ll do just about anything to lock in the votes of 800,000 new citizens.

The Democrats want to make it so that President Trump has no victories…they are the party of RESIST in spite of the fact the American people (not the elites) voted for Trump and his policy promises.

What many don’t realize is that a large group of Democrats currently serving in the US senate intend to run for president in 2020 and are manufacturing an issue about immigrant children as their launch pad to the White House.

This entire issue has nothing to do with helping to make America Great Again (which the democrats don’t want), but has everything to do with politics, trying qualify 800,000 (or more) new Democrat voters by the 2020 election.

Schumer and his gang of far left progressives in the US Senate should be ashamed of themselves. It’s a corrupt political ploy to place political gain ahead of the the American people’s welfare. And they’re doing it by frightening a group of people who have no ideas why they’ve suddenly become a hot-button.

Sadly it may well work. As we’ve seen over the past 70 years with blacks, Republicans aren’t particularly good at countering even the most blatant Democrat lies. Republicans are a bit like a battered wife and have decided they’d rather take the beating than press the charge, tell their story, stand up for themselves and the validity of their ideas.

What’s worse, the Democrats’ proposal is deeply flawed, and promises to cause even more problems going forward. To the already 800,000 or so dreamers effected, they’re attempting to add even more by:

  1. Expanding the dates when these people entered the country

  2. Loosening the guidelines on criminal activity, and;

  3. Loosening the rules having to do with education and job status.

Again, all in cynical political ploy designed to add more folks to the Democratic voter rolls.

Imagine, if you will, a nation where the majority of Americans are outraged and vote the bums out in November of 2018.
