When did we lose respect for our nation? How did we get to the point where mayors and now governors have a total disregard for the law of the land and when and how did the people predetermine that they simply would ignore the history and traditions of our nation.
How did we get to the point where the American people elected and re-elected a president that held a rose garden presser for a deserter and praised his service to our nation?
When did we get to the point when it was OK to say freedom of speech only belonged to a certain post-rational set of elites in Hollywood, academia, and, of course, the Democrat Party?
When did our National Anthem become so distasteful to so many?
Illegal border crossers have been a problem for decades. Ronald Reagan struck a deal with Congress that he would allow illegals to stay if Congress controlled the border and stopped the flow of people coming to America over our Southern border. We all know how that worked out.
Bill Clinton gave powerful speeches about illegals and not a damn thing happened. Surprise, surprise!
Obama virtually encouraged illegals to come over the border with promises of government benefits, free education, health care and more. Obama felt that illegals deserved better treatment than our Veterans and basically hamstrung ICE, The Border Police and police departments across the country. He completely bypassed the Constitution to make law with his DACA proclamation, and we know what a mess that is.
Now we have illegals DEMANDING their constitutional right to influence legislative policy. Excuse Me! They’re demanding better pay and better jobs. What? They’re demanding that they ALL (11,000,000) bypass all of those who have been in line to come here legally and get American citizenship immediately. Yea, I don’t think so!
The laws are pretty clear. Illegal is illegal!
But too many feel our laws are not fair to illegals, and that we should spend billions of dollars housing, feeding, educating, and caring for their medical needs. And if our country needs to go further into debt, well so be it.
I’m sure you have all read of the story out of Texas where an illegal (with no driver’s license) went the wrong way on a highway and killed a father and his two kids. The illegal received a two year sentence!
So individuals come to America illegally, and are given virtually everything they need to live (including special treatment when they commit murder.)
Some elected officials even think we should change the laws and make more benefits available for Illegals instead of using those resources for things Americans desperately need. How about mental health, more services for our vets, rebuilding our military, improving infrastructure, job programs for inner city residents, vastly improved education, and dozens of other things important to American tax payers?
How does any rationale elected politician think that spending American tax dollars on illegals before spending those dollars on Americans is a good idea?
Here is what I do believe: 99% of the politicians who want more money for illegals are Democrats. I’m convinced these politicians believe if they give enough free stuff to illegals (payoffs) these formerly illegal aliens will become a reliable component of the Democrat coalition once they can legally vote. And, even before then, they can draw Hispanics in greater numbers by painting Republicans as anti-Hispanic simply because they want to exercise a little control over our border.
It should sound familiar.
It’s exactly what Democrats always do with minorities and the poor. They gain their support by giving them trillions of dollars worth of “free” stuff, all at taxpayer expense. Then they claim those who worry about high taxes or huge deficits are really just anti-minority. Isn’t that what LBJ did to lock in the votes of black Americans?
It’s dishonest. It’s corrupt. And it’s a cynical use of tax dollars to lock up future votes so Democrats can maintain power.
I have an idea. Let’s elect politicians who give a damn about the American tax payers, about setting priorities that work for the American taxpayers, and who will fight against corruption in Washington DC and all 50 state capitols.
