November 6th (Election Day) can’t come soon enough!
I hate, no I detest, wasting or throwing away time, but in this case, I am willing to toss away 4 months so we can get to the general election of 2018.
Why? Because I hope voters send the #RESIST/IMPEACH crowd a very loud message that they respect the job Donald Trump is doing. I really hope Americans thoroughly and overwhelming show once and for all their total rejection of the entire left wing bent of the new Democrat Party.
Now maybe that’s a lot to hope for. Then again, maybe it’s not.
Because for the first time in decades we have a president who gets things done. If he tells America he is going to work on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, you can take it to the bank that he is going to work on it; not just make a bunch of flashy speeches in the hopes everyone will forget his promises. Almost everything he promised us during the campaign; he’s worked to deliver. That doesn’t mean he’s always succeeded; hell, the Senate is still screwing around with tons of his appointments.
But in his first two years, he’s achieved more good than Obama did in his two terms.
Trump led the fight for a great tax cut (the left doesn’t think it’s so great because it means they get less of our money to spend). He’s drastically reduced the burden of growth killing regulations. For the first time in 10 years we have a president building our military up instead of tearing it down.
We’re witnessing the appointment of judges who don’t seek to redefine the meaning of laws based on their own political ideology, but who adjudicate based on the clear intent of the authors.
We’re experiencing the lowest unemployment in many decades, maybe the lowest ever in the minority community. As a result, it’s the first time in 10 years the number of Americans on food stamps has actually gone down. In fact, the need for more workers is so great American industry is building new training programs to equip workers with the skills necessary to get better paying, more complex jobs.
Finally our adversaries around the world know we mean business; and our friends know we have their back, but everyone must contribute.
For the first time in decades we have a president who speaks his mind to friend and foe alike — whether in front of a microphone, or on Twitter, or on Facebook. He calls things as he sees them. Is he the most eloquent? Hell no! Is the most polished? Absolutely not!
Eloquent and highly polished sounds bites are what we’ve come to expect from other politicians. We’ve come to despise those kinds of statements because we know they’re nearly meaningless. That’s not President Trump. Agree or disagree, we know we can trust him to tell us what he thinks and what he intends to do about it. Between you and me, I love it.!
Hopefully in this November’s general election, Americans will again tell the radical left we’re not interested in their socialist brand of a nanny state government that controls us in the name of taking care of us.
For more than two hundred years, Americans have proven that it’s freedom — sometimes messy, always invigorating — that produces strength, resilience, innovation, and competence. Mandates by government can never do that. All government can do is reduce the freedom that is responsible for the economic powerhouse and moral force for good that America has become.
That’s what Democrats want to change. That’s what their socialist, big government philosophy threatens to destroy. And that’s why Americans should send a clear message in November we’re not interested now or ever.
God Bless our freedom and our nation!
