Totally Unhinged

In all my years, I’ve never seen someone, anyone, with a sign even remotely close to one reading, “Patriotism is Racism.”

First of all, patriotism is not racism. Second, racism is not patriotism. Third, well there is no third. Racism is wrong. Claiming patriots by definition are racists is also wrong, it’s highly offensive and an outright fabrication.

The brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country, so many of whom have died, did so in large measure so idiots like this have the right to carry signs like that — no matter their color. I assure you, they were patriots, and racism had nothing to do with it..

Then there are the radical leftists who proudly advocate shooting anyone who wears a MAGA hat. And why not? That’s the logical result of believing those of us who disagree with your desire to make America over into Cuba or Venezuela are evil enemies. To the left, those of us who believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; don’t deserve life. To them, we deserve destruction.

The left claims they love America, but what they really love is the America they want to remake into something vastly different than the nation many generations of Americans have fought and died for. Their America is almost opposite the America we love.

It’s a country that in which our constitution is more suggestion than supreme law. They want to take away our right to own guns, our right to free speech, our right to be presumed innocent till proven guilty.

Their America is one in which we serve the government rather than the government serving people. And the first way we serve that government is pay homage by forking over whatever taxes those in charge deem they require — no matter whether we can care for the financial needs of our families.

Their America would open our borders and welcome damn near anyone in who wants in. Of course, given a few years of their America, people will no longer want to come in. We’ll be bankrupt, our economy in shambles, unable to care for those in need or protect our national security. It’s a vision perfectly suited to Obama’s vision of “lead from behind.” In their America, we don’t really need a military, we can rely instead on the United Nations to protect us.

These days, the left is totally unhinged. Throughout history, in every corner of the world, we’ve seen the results of their brand of radicalism. Nothing is more dangerous to the preservation of freedom and human dignity than a hard-core band of people mobilized by the idea that they know best what’s good for everyone else and anyone who gets in the way should be destroyed.

Can you imagine, in your wildest dreams, a member of the United States Congress suggesting an illegal immigrant should be our next justice on the Supreme Court? It’s the same member of Congress who promotes harassment of Trump staff or supporters anywhere you find them — pumping gas, eating out, seeing a movie. She insists they be ostracized, harassed, and made aware they’re just not welcome. WOW!

And these are the people who want control of our Congress. They’re doing everything they can to get it with this next election. We simply can’t let that happen.
