Whose Values?
August 02, 2018

Democrat leaders love talking about values, but are they being honest? Consider recent comments by Tom Perez, Chairman of the Democrat National Committee.
“We must elect Democrats to Congress who can put a check on Donald Trump and fight for the values we hold dear. Just this month, Trump set fire to long- standing alliances, nominated an extremist to the Supreme Court, failed to hold Russia accountable for interfering in our elections, and decided not to protect elections for years to come.”
What does Perez mean when he says “… fight for the values we hold dear?”
He’s talking about values like these:
Abolish ICE, and with it any enforcement of immigration and border laws;
Open borders;
Union-only education, no choice on schools, no home schooling;
Free health care for everyone (or really low quality healthcare that costs everyone more in higher taxes;)
Free State college for everyone (or really lower quality education that costs everyone more in higher taxes;)
Increased welfare (and the higher taxes on the rest of us to pay for it;)
A weaker military;
Super high taxes on small businesses and corporations (along with the higher unemployment that comes with those tax increases;)
Higher fees for everything.
These, my friends, are the values the Democrats hold dear and what we have to look forward to if they win in 2018 and/or 2020.
Perez says, “Trump nominated an extremist.” Really? That’s a straight-out lie!
He said “Trump set fire to long standing alliances;” He must be talking about asking our NATO allies to pay their fair share. Or maybe telling our trading partners we expect free trade that’s fair. Why does he oppose our trading partners paying the same tariffs we do; or oppose China abiding by fair rules on intellectual property rights? The leaders of the European Union have already said they want to work toward 0 tariffs.
He says, “Trump didn’t hold Russia accountable for interfering in our elections.” I don’t know whether that’s true or not. But neither does Chairman Perez. Neither of us was in the room and neither of us knows what was said.
But Tom Perez has shown he doesn’t care about the truth. And neither does Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer or Bernie Sanders or any of the other leaders of the Democratic Party.
They desperately want to gain political power so they can impose their socialist policies on our country. It’s hard to believe when you consider the utter failure of socialism in every other country it’s been tried. But just as the leaders of Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, and China can’t help themselves; neither can the leaders of the Democratic Party.
And just like the leaders of those other failed nations, Democrat leaders will resort to any lie, any act, any outrage to impose their philosophy on the rest of us.
Tom Perez urges Democrats to “fight for the values we hold dear.” I hope you will join me to do the same, but not for the values of those who want to take your money through higher taxes and end your freedom through increased regulation. Instead, join me in the fight to protect liberty, hope, and opportunity … for ourselves, for our children, and for the generations to come.
