Wolves in Ducks’ Clothing

Wolves in Ducks’ Clothing

Normally, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. Except when it’s not.

Such is the case with the “caravan” of immigrants who made the 1500 mile trek from South America to the border of Mexico and the United States.

We were told by the left and the media (but I repeat myself) that all these poor people needed asylum in the US because they’d suffered hard lives in Honduras and El Salvador. They dragged themselves and their children, even infants on a brutal trip hoping that the presence of young children would guarantee asylum. It hasn’t entirely worked out that way.

The Democrats shed crocodile tears over these poor people even while we see the migrants talking on i-Phones, eating regularly, and wearing clothes that hardly look as though they’ve endured a 1500 mile walk.

But when 150 of these people tried to attack America the left made nary a peep — apparently the violence by the migrants contradicted their narrative of these being just average, poor, abused people searching for a fresh start.

It’s strange that, to a person, they’ve rejected Mexico’s offer of asylum. One would think they’d be grateful for asylum in any country that improves their circumstances. But then Mexico doesn’t offer anywhere near the level of support they expect to enjoy in the U.S.

If it looks like an asylum seeker and talks like an asylum seeker, it must be a person in need of asylum. Unless, of course, it is not.

And such is the case with the “asylum seekers” trying to invade our southern border. The truth though is that most of these folks are simply looking for a better life in America.

They’re not the worst of the wolves in my example. The real wolves are those who replace truth with the lies needed to promote a blatant political agenda that actually threatens the safety and economic well being of America’s people.

The left says we should simply let the migrants in. According to the liberals, they will inevitably get jobs, pay taxes, and become productive members of American society. The left claims the migrants won’t cost us anything … won’t add to our crime problems, and of course should receive voting rights as soon as possible.

But just about everything the left claims goes completely contrary to the facts. The fact is illegal immigrants already in our country cost us something more than $100 billion each year … in higher costs for welfare, housing, healthcare, foodstamps, and education for their kids.

It’s also a fact that a substantial number of illegal immigrants are criminals — gang members, drug and human traffickers, and run-of-the-mill thieves, rapists, and killers. As if we needed it, more proof comes from California where police officer Ronil Singh was gunned down in a routine traffic stop by an illegal immigrant. That murderer was arrested along with at least two other illegal immigrants who were trying to help him escape back to Mexico.

Don’t buy the left’s propaganda. They could not care less about migrants except as a political issue. They first intend to consolidate support among liberal whites and, then second, convince Hispanics that Republican opposition to open borders means we don’t like them. It’s not true. But truth is a necessary casualty in their strategic planning.

It’s not just the caravaners who aren’t the ducks Democrats would have us believe they are. Democrats themselves are really just wolves in ducks’ clothing when they claim they’re the caring, compassionate, anti-racists who are only standing up for the oppressed.
